Parkwoods families,

As you may have heard, the GTHL has just announced that based on the letter issued yesterday by Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health asking the provincial government to, among other things, discontinue all indoor sports, they are deferring the start of all GTHL-sanctioned hockey activities until at least January 1st (https://www.gthlcanada.com/article/greater-toronto-hockey-league-announces-postponement-of-sanctioned-activities). As the GTHL is Parkwoods’ governing body, this means that Parkwoods cannot start our season as planned after Thanksgiving and applies to both House League and Select activities, including practices and applies to both on-ice and off-ice activities for all levels of minor hockey.

Your Parkwoods team had been working hard behind the scenes in an attempt to provide our Stars and our community with some form of hockey experience this season, however public health protocols evolved over time. We know our players are anxious to be back on the ice and appreciate this is a disappointment for our families, but support the decision which continues to put the health and safety of our participants first.

We will be in touch shortly regarding registration refunds and other details.

Yours in hockey,

PARKWOODS HOCKEY LEAGUE
